Welcome to Rhett's website. His story is unique, but the underlying dilemma of frivolous lawsuits overwhelming our courts is all too common. TAX PAYERS PAY FOR THESE FRIVOLOUS LAWSUITS with the time they waste in processing by government law clerks, judges and juries. This is a story of a dog named Rhett that was viciously attacked by an Iranian terrorist along with a few incompetent attorneys. The lawsuit was filed in September 2007 and ended in October 2009. My former landlord Tino Bekardi with the help of his attorney and longtime friend Lance Kassab filed a lawsuit less than 2 weeks after the end of my 13 month lease with a claim that I had no authorization to have a pet on the premise and instilled a penalty of $50 per day for my entire stay totaling over 20k. |

What is so disturbing is that Rhett is clearly noted in writing on the lease signed prior to moving in. He makes no claim of damage committed by Rhett. It is shocking to discover that it is legal to sue anyone without merit and the accused is forced to defend themselves for months to years while waiting for trial. It has become clear that our courts enable individuals to abuse the system and use it as a means of extortion and harassment.
